About Serving Up Hope

The SUH Luncheon began in 1994 as Network for the Needy. It started when hospitality organizations decided to work together toward the common goal of ending hunger in our community. Almost everything is donated and 100% of the proceeds benefit Food Bank of the Rockies and its Denver’s Table program. At last year’s SUH luncheon MIC of Colorado donated over $30,000 and over 16,000 meals to the Food Bank of the Rockies and has donated over $290,000 since 2006.

About Food Bank of the Rockies

  • Last year, through our direct service programs and partner agencies, we distributed nearly 60 million pounds of food, enough to provide more than 131,000 meals each day to children, seniors and families in need.
  • Today, FBR has extended its reach across Northern Colorado, providing food and supplies to more than 500 hunger-relief programs.
  • Since 1978, FBR has provided more than 567 million meals for people in need.

About Andrew Hudson’s Jobs List

jobslistlogoAndrew Hudson’s Jobs List has been Colorado’s premiere job board for  20 years.  Started in 1998 with a few hundred followers,  today, more than 35,000 subscribers receive the weekly updates and hundreds of thousands more visit AH Jobs List each month.  Currently, AH Jobs List posts more than 1,000 jobs per-month and according to a recent survey, 70% of employers posting jobs found Andrew Hudson’s Jobs List the best site for finding new employees.

In addition, AH Jobs List holds Career Bootcamps throughout the year.  AH Jobs List Career Bootcamps are intensive three-hour interactive small-group seminars that help get job seekers out of their job-seeking rut and make their minds swim with fresh job-seeking ideas and a new perspective on how to market and brand their unique skills and experiences.

AH Jobs List has also held large job seminars and job fairs and through these events, more than $150,000 has been raised for local charitable organizations including the Red Cross, the Denver Zoo, the Mi Casa Resource Center, Volunteers of America, local Tsunami relief and the Samaritan House homeless shelter.

We are always looking for new ways to improve the site and welcome comments and advice on how to make the site even more helpful and effective for job seekers and employers alike.

About Andrew Hudson

Andrew Hudson 100.jpgYes, Andrew Hudson, me, is actually a real person.  I’ve actually had people email me thinking I’m an avatar, or a made-up person that is part of a bigger corporate scheme. But I’m all too real. I live and work in Greenwood Village where Andrew Hudson’s Jobs List is my full-time job.

My passion for the past 20 years has been helping jobseekers find work and helping employers connect with the best professionals.  It’s what I love to do.  I feel very fortunate that I have turned what was a hobby into a full time career.  Knowing that I’m able to help people with their job search and with managing their careers brings me great satisfaction.

Prior to taking on AH Jobs List as a full time endeavor, I had spent more than 20 years working in a variety of marketing, public relations and advertising roles.  I was the Director of Communications at the Regional Transportation District and I also served as the press secretary for a United States Senator and for the Mayor of Denver.  I led the marketing and advertising division at Frontier Airlines and also served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for ARCADIS, U.S., a global environmental engineering firm based out Arnhem, the Netherlands.

I am also a professional bassist and perform in a variety of jazz clubs and festivals throughout Colorado.

I’m a proud third-generation Coloradoan and I live in Englewood, Colorado with my beautiful wife, Christine who is the CEO of the Denver Foundation.  We have three children, Nick, Julia and Mateo.

MEETINGS MEAN BUSINESS PROVIDES GLOBAL MEETINGS

INDUSTRY DAY 2021 UPDATE

WASHINGTON – Ambassadors of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMBC) have issued the following statement on Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), which is still set to take place next on Thursday, April 8, 2021

“The current landscape for meetings and events is one of the most challenging in our history. Even so, industry professionals rise to the occasion time and time again – from GMID 2020, where event planners in all regions swiftly pivoted to virtual; to today, where business and destinations are holding safe in-person events and embracing the hybrid model as necessary. Following this positive trajectory, we are hopeful that we will see the same success during GMID celebrations in 2021.

We look forward to coming together on April 8 in all settings, stronger and more united than ever, to demonstrate the unwavering value of our industry with leaders in business, government and the media. Showcasing our industry’s value has never been more important – particularly at the state and local levels.

Anticipating that protocols for hosting safe in-person events may continue to shift and vary by location, MMBC urges all GMID event hosts to continue basing their planning decisions on information from local public health authorities, continuing to embrace hybrid and virtual events as mandated. Industry professionals based in the U.S. should also refer to MMBC’s online reopening tracker – updated regularly with the latest state-by-state requirements.

Last but certainly not least, we’re pleased to introduce the 2021 GMID theme, Meet Safe, complemented by the launch of meetsafe.travel – a platform created in partnership with Simpleview to showcase the many safe meetings and events taking place across the U.S. We welcome and encourage all industry professionals to submit their stories in the days and months ahead.

As with GMID 2020, be sure to follow along and visit meetingsmeanbusiness.com for information on resources for event hosts, registration details and additional tools for industry advocates amid COVID-19, and consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and Events Industry Council (EIC) for best practices.
