HSMAI-2026 State of the Springs

Join HSMAI Southern Colorado for The State of the Springs, an engaging program highlighting the milestones, momentum, and future of Colorado Springs’ hospitality community.

This year’s program will feature insights from leaders shaping the region’s tourism, communications, and culinary landscape. Douglas P. Price, IOM, President & CEO of Visit Colorado Springs, will share reflections on the growth of the destination, key tourism initiatives, and the continued momentum of Colorado Springs as a premier travel destination.

Attendees will also hear from Joe Hollmann, Deputy Communications Officer for the City of Colorado Springs, who will discuss the 10-year anniversary of Colorado Springs earning the designation of “Olympic City USA,” and how that milestone has elevated the city’s national profile, tourism opportunities, and community pride.

Adding a culinary perspective to the conversation, Matthew Schniper, Independent Food & Drink Journalist and publisher of Side Dish with Schniper, will share insights into Colorado Springs’ evolving restaurant scene and how the city’s culinary reputation continues to grow.

The chapter will also take a special moment to celebrate and recognize Douglas P. Price, IOM, as he prepares for retirement after years of dedicated leadership and steadfast support of the hospitality community and HSMAI Southern Colorado.
